Heyheyhey,
Well, Today is August 2nd, which means it's my birthday! hooray! I'm 19 today, but in some way, I'm not that excited. I mean, I like the idea of being older, but I'm not as excited as I used to be for party's and greetings, I guess. It's a good thing though. As I've told you before, Witnesses don't celebrate birthdays, and this is the last one I'm ever really celebrating. 20 will be my year, since I'm sure I'll be a witness by then. I don't really know what I'm gonna do today. Oh...wait...YES I DO!
At 9am, I'm going down to a little church I used to go to five years ago, to reunite with some people. Then, after it's over, I'm going with my Aunt Debbie to the "Keep On the Watch!" convention. She was interested in seeing the drama they're holding. She's not a witness in any way, but who knows, maybe she'll like the atmosphere and the drama's, and she'll accept their ideas. A guy can hope, can't he? When I'm with my dad's side of the family, I'm pretty much alone in the Witness thing. They believe in churches and stuff. Now, my moms side, I'm never alone on that subject. Almost all of them were raised in the truth. Actually, after the convention, I'm going to my Grandma Judy's, until tomorrow afternoon. I have a bible study on Monday at Noon, so I'm looking forward to tomorrow, too.
Well, I really should be getting ready for this whole reunion thing. So, later.

Hey, I hope you had a great birthday! I think it's nice that you had one "last" celebration for yourself. The one holiday my family always ignored the no celebration rule was Thanksgiving. The rational given in the blue pamphlet was pretty weak, basically that it was a worldly holiday and that's it... so by that logic you could argue almost everything was wrong.
ReplyDeleteGood luck!!!
Nothing wrong with being happy to celebrate the day you were born. Every year I call my mother, a practicing witness, to tell her I love her and tell her I'm glad she was born {otherwise, I wouldn't be here LOL}. But we don't do all the other stuff...cake, presents, blowing out candles, etc. The pagan background behind the blowing out of candles says it all. But every year I'm happy she's with me for another one! *Blessed*
